GPA Calculator

Project Goal

The GPA Calculator was designed to solve a common problem faced by students - the tedious manual calculation of Grade Point Average from academic transcripts. This Android application automates the entire process by intelligently parsing PDF marksheets.

The app uses sophisticated Regular Expression patterns to accurately extract grades and credit hours from various college PDF formats, including those from DigiLocker. This eliminates human error and saves significant time for students tracking their academic progress.

Technical Implementation

PDF Processing Engine: Implemented robust PDF parsing capabilities to handle various document formats and layouts from different educational institutions.

Data Extraction: Utilized advanced Regular Expressions to identify and extract relevant academic data including course codes, grades, and credit hours with high precision.

GPA Calculation: Developed algorithms to accurately compute GPA based on different grading systems and credit weightings.

User Interface: Created an intuitive Android interface that guides users through the document upload and result visualization process.
